ADAO has been eagerly looking forward to participating in tomorrow’s cutting edge Rio+ Social conference and global virtual event as part of the United Nations’ Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development. Rio+ Social is a gathering of technology, social media, and global leaders that focuses on “social good” and how new media can help foster positive solutions to global issues. Topics of conversation will include how social media and technology can affect energy, jobs, food, cities, and health; and the conference aims to discuss how social media can positively change all of these issues.

We are excited to explore the relationship between social media and technology in sustainable development at this global exchange of ideas, and we are so grateful to have this opportunity to expand our working relationship with the U.N.  Many important leaders and innovators from around the world – including Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, and Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group – will speak at the day-long event. As firm believers in the power of new and social media to create change, ADAO seeks to learn about new social media strategies to more effectively connect our global network and raise asbestos awareness.  More details to come!

If you would like to join the conversation virtually from your country, the conference coordinators will be streaming the event at the rioplussocial website.

In unity,

Linda
