ADAO “Share Your Story” Collection
ADAO understands and recognizes the bravery and fortitude it takes to share one’s experience with asbestos disease. It is a tremendous honor when someone chooses to open their heart and participate in ADAO’s ongoing “Share Your Story” campaign. We also know that it creates change. Members’ stories have made a difference at Congressional hearings, during our conference, and through our educational resources.
Over the years, we have collected more than 200 stories from patients, their spouses, and their children. We are now moving beyond our online stories to honor our community by compiling these heartfelt tributes into our 20th Anniversary ADAO book titled “Shared Stories: How Asbestos Changed Our Lives Forever.”
Tragically, asbestos has impacted so many of us, whether it has been you or someone you love. Although it may seem difficult to find the right words, your support for those fighting asbestos diseases alongside you is invaluable and ensures that we will never forget those we have lost. Your voice matters.
If you would like to share your story in the new “Shared Stories: How Asbestos Changed Our Lives Forever,” complete the online form by August 1st to be included in our book.
We will publish these tributes, along with all previously published and submitted stories, for our 20th Anniversary International Asbestos Awareness Conference on September 14, 2024. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to spread your message and create positive change.
