ADAO invites you to join us at the World Premiere of “Dirty Laundry”, an asbestos documentary, in San Luis Obispo’s International Film Festival from March 13 – 18, 2018.
This documentary sheds light on ghostly nightmares that mesothelioma patients and relatives live through, as a consequence of asbestos exposure. The story line is simple: two cousins, Conor Lewis and Zack Johnson, fueled by curiosity about their grandmother’s death from a rare cancer, bicycle across the United States, looking for answers. Through interviews and research, they uncover a trail of corporate disinterest and broken families, bound together by a common thread – asbestos exposure and the death sentence of mesothelioma. Take a look at the trailer and visit their page inside the SLO Festival website.

Zack, Bryan, and Conor Screening “Dirty Laundry” at the SLO Film Fest
In support of this moving film, Ellen Costa, an ADAO Board member, and I will attend the premiere Friday, March 16th, for the screening followed by a panel discussion about asbestos.
After this 14 year journey, fighting to prevent asbestos exposure and eradicate asbestos-related diseases, I recommend this film wholeheartedly. Part expose, part entertaining travelogue, and part family drama, this story, told by first-time filmmakers, reminds us all how important life is and how we must protect it from asbestos, through policies and prevention.
If you are in or around the SLO area, go see this wonderful documentary this weekend! The showtimes, starting today, include:
Thursday, March 15 – 4:45 pm – Downtown Cinemas
Friday, March 16 – 1:30 pm – Downtown Cinemas
Saturday, March 17 – 10:30am – Downtown Cinemas
If unable to attend, help spread the word by sharing their website, and following them on social media.
Let’s give a clean slate to Dirty Laundry, and help to make it the asbestos film event of the year!
Break a leg Conor and Zack, and Bryan!
